Editor's Note: Random thoughts on this list ----

1. I have obviously sloughed off on my movie-going because I don't recognize a lot of these titles. And how do we know the titles? Because of the trailers you see if you go to movies a lot. So, I guess I've been slipping.

2. Movie-going is a muscle, and I had better get MINE back in shape (let's not even TALK about any OTHER of my bodies non-muscles), if I have any HOPE of seeing everything that's of import this fall.

3. This list should be viewed like a marathon. Weeks with a Luke Wilson film, or a film with a list of one-named Rap people you are too old and too softpop to recognize can be your hiatus/rest weeks. Pace yourselves. It would be awful to go out of the way to push through a Josh Hartnett movie, only to miss the next week's Helen Mirren flic from viewing fatigue.

4. Who is Abbie Cornish and why is she in movies two weeks in a row?

5. The week of November 17 it will be necessary to all quit our jobs and just go to the movies. Just too darned many things opening that week.

6. Towards the end of December Rocky goes up against a Judi Dench/Cate Blanchett movie. What to do, what to do?????
