A brief pause in the Star Wars Mania for breaking TV News

FIRST UP, NBC...

NBC opts for drama, reality in new fall sked
NBC has unveiled a massive overhaul of its primetime schedule, with changes coming to every night of the week but Thursday this fall.

The peacock will add one new comedy, "My Name Is Earl," three new dramas and two new reality series, including the Martha Stewart-hosted rendition of "The Apprentice," to its slate.

Monday will kick off with new drama "Fathom," about the search for mysterious creatures of the ocean, leading into returning 9 p.m. drama "Las Vegas" and this season's freshman success story "Medium" at 10 p.m.

Tuesday will open with return of weight-loss reality contest "The Biggest Loser" at 8 p.m., followed by "My Name Is Earl" paired with the return of "The Office," capped at 10 p.m. by "Law & Order: SVU."

Wednesday will open with the Stewart-hosted "Apprentice," followed at 9 p.m. by new Pentagon-based drama "E-Ring" and "Law & Order" at 10 p.m.

Thursday remains status quo from this season: "Joey, "Will & Grace," "The Apprentice" hosted by Trump and "ER."

Friday will open with unscripted series "Three Wishes," hosted by gospel singer Amy Grant, leading into "Dateline NBC" and new drama "Inconceivable," set behind-the-scenes of a fertility clinic.EDITOR'S NOTE: NO WORD ON WHETHER "LAW & ORDER: TRIAL BY JURY" IS COMING BACK MID-SEASON, OR NEVER.

Saturday night remains a movie showcase night. Sunday opens with "Dateline NBC" at 7 p.m., followed by "The West Wing," which relocates from WednesdayEDITOR'S NOTE: !!! POSSIBLY A BETTER NIGHT FOR IT? , and the return of 9-11 p.m. combo "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "Crossing Jordan."

NBC brass have also picked up a new comedy, "Four Kings," from Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, creators of "Will & Grace." Sitcom "Scrubs" and reality series "Fear Factor" will also be held for midseason premieres.

NBC will formally unveil its new schedule to advertisers Monday at a 3 p.m. ET presentation at Radio City Music Hall.
