A couple of quick-breaking items on this fine MONDAY (ugh)

EDITOR'S NOTE: I WAS JUST PERUSING THE NET, AND FRANKLY HOPING THERE WAS NOTHING PRESSING THAT I NEEDED TO POST, SINCE I KINDA HAVE REAL WORK TO DO (MORE'S THE PITY).

AND A COUPLE OF THINGS POPPED UP THAT RATHER DEMAND INSTA-POSTING.

Jackman offered 007 role
According to Dark Horizons, Hugh Jackman has been offered the role of the new 007, but he's not taking EON up on the offer. EDITOR'S NOTE: YEAH..THIS ONE'S REALLY A TEASE, SINCE HE SAID NO. STILL....IF WE GET TO THINK ABOUT HUGH JACKMAN FOR A FEW SECS ON A MONDAY, THAT AIN'T A BAD THING, RIGHT?!

The always-busy Jackman - next seen in the scifi flick "The Fountain" - apparently couldn't find room to shoot the three new Bond movies the studio wanted him for.

At least that's one whisper doing the rounds - others say wife Debbie talked him out of it and another whisper says Jackman feared becoming typecast.

Any of those are pretty reasonable claims. Jackman has long been considered a Bond favourite.

Another Australian is still in the running - newcomer Alex O'Lachlan.

Does Keira eat her Breakfast at Tiffany's?
Jennifer Love Hewitt, initially envisioning it to be the part to rise her career, may have had about as much success playing the role - in the TV movie she did - as CBS has had with "INXS : Rock Star", but that hasn't deterred British babe Keira Knightley from circling a new biopic on screen legend, Audrey Hepburn.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star tells Sky that she's had chats with the money-men about wearing the trousers of the "Breakfast at Tiffany's" starlet in a new movie.

"I have been spoken to with regards to the role of Hepburn", says Knightley. "It's intriguing as the film goes behind the lady we all knew so well but I am unsure, as such an icon is always hard to find as an actress." She added: "I would love to play her but it's all early days as yet." EDITOR'S NOTE: I ADORE MS. KNIGHTLEY...AND SHE'S SURELY A BETTER CHOICE TO PLAY THE LOVELY AUDREY HEPBURN THAN CHARISMA-DEVOID LOVE HEWITT.....BUT EVEN KNIGHTLEY DOESN'T HAVE THE GRACE AND POISE AND 'JE NE SAIS QUOI' OF MS. HEPBURN. AND I DON'T THINK THIS IS AN ACTING THING. I MEAN, I DON'T THINK ONE CAN ACT THEIR WAY TO HAVING WHAT IT TAKES.
