Pair bound for PIRATES sequels
Two new faces join the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN sequels

Stellan Skarsgard (EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING) and Naomie Harris (28 DAYS LATER) are the new blood joining the cast of the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN sequels.

Skarsgard will play Orlando Bloom's character's father while Harris will play a gypsy queen.

Shooting on the back-to-back sequels EDITOR'S NOTE: OH. SO THE BACK-TO-BACK THING ISN'T A SECRET FROM THE CAST? * 3 MUSKETEERS, ANYONE? SNICKER....is scheduled to begin in March, with PIRATES 2 slated to make its bow in the summer of 2006. EDITOR'S NOTE: NOT NEARLY SOON ENOUGH, IF YOU ASK ME.

Singer Finds His Jimmy
THR reports that Sam Huntington has been cast as Jimmy Olsen in Bryan Singer's Superman movie. Huntington joins a case which incluedes Brandon Routh as Clark Kent/Superman and Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor.

Angelina plays good wife to GOOD SHEPHERD
Actress cast opposite Matt Damon
Angelina Jolie has been cast in THE GOOD SHEPHERD, a drama/thriller that actor Robert De Niro is prepping to direct.

In the film Jolie will play the long-suffering wife to Matt Damon's character, a CIA agent. As her husband's career in the agency develops, their marriage suffers from the stress associated with the demanding job. EDITOR'S NOTE: GOOD THING SHE'S STILL GOT BRAD. SMIRK. *AND DON'T THESE TWO SEEM AN UNLIKELY COUPLE. (ATTRACTIVE, BUT UNLIKELY). I MEAN, I THINK SHE CAN BENCH-PRESS DAMON.

The film is expected to begin shooting this March.

Nightcrawler Comments on Change of X-MEN Director
Alan Cumming was very honest when he was asked to comment on the change of director in the X-MEN movie franchise.

The actor, who played Nightcrawler in X2, told Sci Fi Wire that he's not disappointed that Bryan Singer won't be directing the thrid installment of the franchise. "
I think he's really talented, and I'm really proud of the film—I think it's a
great film—but I didn't enjoy working with him on it."

Cumming said that he doesn't know who will follow in Singer's footsteps, but that he was scheduled to start filming in June, a date he doubts will hold firm

"Dead" Director Gets "Life"
"Shaun of the Dead" co-writer and director Edgar Wright is in negotiations to direct "Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life" for Universal Pictures. Eric Gitter and Marc Platt Productions' Marc Platt will produce.

The story centers on a young slacker who meets the woman of his dreams but finds that he can win her only by first battling and defeating her seven evil ex-boyfriends. EDITOR'S NOTE: SO IT'S QUITE CLOSELY BASED ON REALITY!? The project is based on the graphic novel by Bryan Lee O'Malley.

Roth takes 'Shot' at indie ensemble
Tim Roth has joined the cast of the gambling drama "Jump Shot." Roth will play the villain Victor in the indie ensemble drama, which is being directed by Mark Rydell and produced by David Greathouse and Bob Yari, who is financing through his Bob Yari Prods. shingle.

Weisz Gushes About "Fountain" Director
Sci-Fi Wire talked with Rachel Weisz about her current film, "The Fountain," directed by Darren Aronofsky.

Weisz stars with Hugh Jackman EDITOR'S NOTE: SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE, SUCH A PRETTY CAST!in the story of a search for the fountain of youth over centuries.

Weisz said of her director,

"... you probably know from his movies that he gets very, very raw, very
emotional performances from his actors, and when he does that it's incredible."
She also added, "He shoots a lot of film. He keeps the camera rolling and
doesn't cut. He keeps it rolling and just throws something out."
