A bit more TV news

EDITOR'S NOTE: A FEW MORE TV ITEMS BEFORE WE MOVE ON TO OTHER THINGS (LIKE FILM, STAR WARS, ETC).

Theron books stint on Fox's 'Development'
Oscar winner Charlize Theron is set to add some star power to Fox's "Arrested Development" when its third season debuts next month.

Theron has signed on to guest star in five episodes of the series, playing a British woman who becomes the love interest of "Development" star Jason Bateman. Theron will debut in the second "Development" episode of the season, following its Sept. 19 premiere. Theron earned her best actress Oscar last year for her portrayal of a serial killer in "Monster."

USA drama 'Psych' tests Roday, Hill
USA Network has lifted the cast contingency off the hourlong pilot "Psych."

Newcomer James Roday will star alongside Dule Hill ("The West Wing") in a lighthearted drama about an amateur detective who cons the police into believing he has psychic powers that help him solve crimes.

Roday ("The Dukes of Hazzard") plays the bogus psychic, and Hill plays his best friend. EDITOR’S NOTE: SO DOES THIS MEAN HILL IS NO LONGER ON “WEST WING”?

"Psych" was written by Steve Banks ("Big Daddy"), who will executive produce with Kelly Kulchak, Chris Henze, J.B. Roberts and Ron West of Tagline Pictures

TNT books Grisham pilot
TNT is teaming with best-selling author John Grisham to develop an adaptation of his novel "The Street Lawyer."

The cable network is eyeing a four-hour backdoor pilot that could eventually end up as a series. Grisham would executive produce with Gary Randall and David Gernert. Ilana Bar-din Giannini ("Picture Perfect") is writing the pilot script. TNT declined comment. EDITOR’S NOTE: I GOTTA SAY THAT BETWEEN USA NET AND TNT NET I’VE HARDLY NOTICED THAT THE BROADCAST NETS HAVE BEEN ON HIATUS. (YAY BASIC CABLE!!!! WOOHOO!!!)

EDITOR’S NOTE: THEN AGAIN, FOR THOSE WHO LIKE YOUR CABLE NAKED AND VIOLENT….. (I KNOW…I SAID THAT LIKE IT’S A BAD THING…..)
Cox stakes his claim on HBO's 'Deadwood'
Veteran Scottish actor Brian Cox, an Emmy winner for his work on the 2000 TNT miniseries "Nuremberg," has joined the cast of HBO's "Deadwood."

Cox will play Jack Langrishe, an eccentric producer and theater owner who strives to introduce a modicum of culture to the mean streets of the South Dakota town where the Western drama is set. Cox will appear in at least seven episodes of the Emmy-nominated series when it returns for its third season next year
