Star Wars News with no Toys

Revenge of the Sith to star at Cannes
The last of the Star Wars films, Revenge of the Sith, will be shown at theis year's Cannes Film Festival

George Lucas' final instalment in the Star Wars canon will open the Cannes Film Festival in May, according to reports.

The Daily Mail says that Episode III - Revenge of the Sith will kick off proceedings on the Croisette, which enjoys a tradition of high-profile launches.

Ewan McGregor will travel in support of the picture, in which he plays a young Obi-Wan Kenobi whose relationship with his protégé Anakin Skywalker, played by Hayden Christensen, reaches the point of no return.

Star Wars fans are drooling over their imitation lightsabres in anticipation of the final episode, in which Anakin transforms from a moody tyro into Kenobi's sinister nemesis, Darth Vader.

Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger are also expected to attend Cannes in support of Ron Howard's Depression Era drama Cinderella Man, while other possible entries include Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain, which stars starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger.

Lucas To Cameo In ROTS
First reported by Starwarz.com, IMDB has this news today:Lucas To "Cameo" in New 'Star Wars' MovieStar Wars director George Lucas will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming final film in the sci-fi series.

Lucas is set to follow in the footsteps of Lord Of The Rings film-maker Peter Jackson by briefly appearing before cameras in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith, playing Baron Papanoida in an opera house scene. EDITOR'S NOTE: WHERE DO THEY GET THESE CHARACTER NAMES?! GEORGE GEORGE GEORGE...SIGH......

Jackson has immortalized himself on screen in all three Lord Of The Rings films, playing hobbit Albert Dreary, an uncredited Rohirrim Warrior and an unnamed Mercenary On Boat in The Fellowship Of The Ring, The Two Towers and Return Of The King, respectively. New Ep III Posters Hit Theaters in 2 Weeks
An anonymous source reveals the follwing info about the new Episode III poster(s):

I work at a movie theatre and my manager attended a big marketing meeting (over the weekend) where he was told that the one sheet(s) for Episode III should be delivered the same week as Robots. There should also be bus shelter size posters as well.

The word from Fox is that the poster(s) should be revealed around March 11th EDITOR'S NOTE: I SHOULD JUST WEAR A BIB, THERE'S SO MUCH GIGGLING AND DROOLING THIS YEAR!
